State Secretary for Science and Research Dünow visits Potsdam Science Park

Press release MWFK | Excellent female scientists and innovative founders – State Secretary for Science and Research Tobias Dünow visited the Potsdam Science Park today. Afterwards, he was impressed by Brandenburg’s largest research and business location: “Cutting-edge research and start-ups are the building blocks for a successful future. The Potsdam Science Park contains both elements: excellent female scientists and innovative founders. I am convinced that in Golm we have the most innovative and dynamic science location in the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region.”

Agnes von Matuschka, Managing Director of Site Management: “The cutting-edge research in Potsdam-Golm is the starting point for the dynamic development of the Potsdam Science Park. From 2023, private investors will build further urgently needed laboratory and office space for companies from the life science and biotechnology sectors at the innovation location, right on the outskirts of the capital.”

The Potsdam Science Park is Brandenburg’s largest research and business location. In the current expansion phase, more than 78,000 square meters of laboratory and office space will be created, and a further ten hectares will be developed on the Technology Campus for research, production and innovation. The Science Park combines the research fields of life science and biotechnology with a total of five research institutes of the Max Planck and Fraunhofer Societies as well as the Golm campus with three faculties of the University of Potsdam. The grounds of the park are also home to the Brandenburg State Archive, which is a central state archive with more than 52,000 metres of archival material covering a period from the 12th century to the present day.
