We Live Science. Newsletter #11

Dear readers, when we sent you the last newsletter, we were busy helping to contain the coronavirus pandemic as much as possible by applying a wide range of prevention measures – to ourselves and to others. In this ‘mode’, the spring colds have meanwhile mostly failed to materialize and we enjoy, nose free, the scent of the first blossoms. By the way, we will have some of these in our luggage at the Potsdam Day of Sciences on May 7 and make spring buttons with children who are enthusiastic about crafting!

Preparations are in full swing for the Rooftop Pitch Potsdam on May 16, for which numerous startups from Potsdam and Brandenburg have applied again this year. We are looking forward to fruitful discussions with the founders and investors!

In the PSP Blog we have published new interviews and company portraits for you. Further exciting topics are already planned, we will publish a new topic on Thursdays in the weeks of May.

Our thoughts this week are with the many people who have fled Ukraine and who are now seeking protection in Potsdam. Urkraini scientists live in the Potsdam Science Park, and some families have found accommodation in Golm. The colleagues of the Welcome Service offer support and bundle information. Together we practice the new language and peculiarities of German culture, discover similarities and differences and hope to be able to provide support and assistance in this difficult situation with humanity.

Finally, a general note: The REWE store in Golm is closed due to renovation work. The market is being expanded and modernized. The reopening is not planned until August 17.

We wish you a pleasant read, stay well!
