The site management in the Potsdam Science Park and the University of Potsdam, in cooperation with the provider CoviMedical GmbH, were able to arrange for the establishment of a container on the university campus in the Potsdam Science Park between House 25 and House 26.
“We want to offer citizens and employees here at the site the opportunity to make their own contribution to reducing new infections with the coronavirus by getting tested and then acting accordingly. The Potsdam Science Park borders directly on a residential area – 12,000 people study and work here at normal times and we are also well connected to local transport. The location is therefore ideal for a test center, and we now hope that the offer will also be well received,” says Agnes von Matuschka, Managing Director of Standortmanagement Golm GmbH.
University President Prof. Oliver Günther, Ph.D. about the expansion of testing capacities in Golm: “The University of Potsdam, in cooperation with Johanniter and a pharmacy in Potsdam, succeeded relatively quickly in creating an infrastructure for Covid-19 rapid tests for members of the university. With the additional mobile test center, we can now offer extensive additional testing capacities for all groups of people in the Potsdam Science Park.”
How do the rapid tests work in Potsdam-Golm?
Potsdam residents can now book appointments for the free citizen test individually via the Internet portal 15minutentest.de. The mobile test center of the provider CoviMedical GmbH is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Anyone who comes to the appointment should have their identity card or passport ready in the original and bring the digital code of the appointment booking on their mobile phone or printed out on paper. It is important to note that citizens should not eat, drink or smoke anything 30 minutes before the test date. Nasal sprays and ointments must also not be used in advance so as not to falsify the results. In the mobile test centre, the tests are carried out by qualified specialists. The results are then available digitally just 15 minutes after the swab.
