EXIST is a support program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). This programme aims at improving the entrepreneurial environment at universities and research institutes. It also aims at increasing the number and success of technology and knowledge based business start-ups. The BMWK supports university graduates, scientists as well as students to this end in preparing their technology and knowledge based start-ups.

The aim of the ProFIT Brandenburg funding program is to maintain and increase the innovation intensity of the Brandenburg economy, taking into account the clusters and their master plans defined as part of the regional innovation strategy of the state of Brandenburg. This involves increasing the number of sustainable, new or improved products, processes and services. The aim is in particular to cooperate between science and business and technology transfer in order to strengthen and accelerate the commercial exploitation of research and development results in Brandenburg. R&D activities are also expressly included in connection with business startups and settlements.
