
Max Planck Guesthouse
The management of the Max Planck Guesthouse is also part of the Welcome Service. The guesthouse is operated by the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (AEI).
As a MPI employee or guest you can find accommodation for the first part of your stay at the Potsdam Science Park until you find permanent housing. The guesthouse offers single or double rooms and also family apartments. A stay for up to 3 months is possible. It is a perfect base for your start at the Potsdam Science Park. Who can stay in the guesthouse?
The guesthouse is open to all guests and employees of the Max Planck Institutes.
What does a room in the guesthouse cost?
- Single Room: 56,60 €/ night 566,03 €/ month**
- Double Room: 65,27 €/ night 652,70 €/ month**
- Apartment: 81,21 €/ night 812,13 €/ month**
Additional beds:
- Adult: 24,61 €/ night 246,10 €/ month**
- Child: 12,30 €/ night 123,00 €/ month**
* All prices include VAT and service once a week.
**The monthly price is calculated for a stay more than 10 nights.
How are the cancellation terms?
Your arrival is also possible after 6:00 p.m.. We keep your room for the whole night. In case of a no show without cancellation in due course or well founded, cancellation fees are possible:
- 50% of the room charge when cancelling 2 weeks before arrival date,
- 80% of the room charge when cancelling 1 day before arrival date, if the room can not be rented out to another person
- 100% of the room charge because of no show without a specific reason.
- In case of no show through no fault of one’s own or force majeure, the cancellation fees can be waived.
How do I find the guesthouse / reception?
The reception for the guesthouse is located in the central building at Max Planck Campus. Please find here a map of the Potsdam Science Park.
By train
Golm train station „Potsdam Golm“ is located in the middle of the Potsdam Science Park. You can reach it with regional trains from Potsdam City in a few minutes, from Berlin or Berlin airport BER in 30 -40 minutes. From the train station you only walk 5 minutes to the campus. Please check the public transportation VBB.
By bus
Bus lines 605 and 695 run directly from Potsdam Central Station to the Potsdam Science Park, station “Potsdam Science Park West”. Please check the public transportation VBB.
From the airport BER you could take the AirportShuttle BER2 to Potsdam Central Station and from there hop on the busses 605 or 695.
By car
From motorway A10 (Berliner Ring) take the exit “Leest” towards Potsdam. If you come from Berlin or Potsdam please follow the signs to Golm or Wissenschaftspark.
Where can I get the key?
You get and return the guesthouse key at the reception in the central building of Max Planck Campus. It is open 24/7.

Where can I pay for the guesthouse stay?
We suggest to pay by bank transfer. You find the bank details in the footer of the invoice.
You can pay for your guesthouse stay too, in cash or by card, at the Welcome Service office in the GO:IN building (opposite the guesthouse, 3rd floor, room 309).
Payment at the reception is not possible.
