Whether you are looking to enjoy a day trip or a longer visit, here are just a few highlights.

Bathing Areas

Bathing Sites in Potsdam

The bathing area at Großer Zernsee in Golm is located directly next to Gut Schloss Golm. It is a small bathing place with a sandy beach, the water is shallow. The Großer Zernsee is a widening of the river Havel, so you can swim here in a largely natural river. From Thursday to Sunday you can also enjoy coffee and cake next door at Gut Schloss Golm. The bathing area can be easily reached by bike from Golm and Eiche.

The bathing beach at Sacrow Lake is a large bathing area with a sandy beach on the north shore of the lake in the Potsdam district of Sacrow, Lake Promenade 79. The lake is part of the nature reserve „Sacrow Lake and Königswald“ and is fed exclusively by groundwater. It is up to 36m deep and thus one of the deepest lakes in Brandenburg. Right next to the beach there is an Italian restaurant with terrace. The bathing place can be reached from Golm by bus 612/697 and a short walk.

The Heiliger See is Potsdam’s most popular bathing spot. The Heiliger See is located in the middle of the city surrounded by villas and the park of the New Garden with a view of the Gothic Library and the Marble Palace. Here you can take a break after a walk along the Havel river. The area offers a big sunbathing lawn inside the park. Access is through the park or via Tizianstraße. From Golm you can take bus 606 and tram 96 to the Glienicker Brücke. Neaby on the north lakeside there is another one, which is preferably used by nude bathers.

The Stadtbad Park Babelsberg at the Tiefer See is a classic beach bath at the edge of Park Babelsberg, here there is also a sandy beach that is guarded, beach chairs and a footbridge. This means that the bath is subject to admission. The Tiefer See is part of the Havel and is used by passenger ships of the Weiße Flotte. It also has a landing stage here. A special highlight: Take the water taxi to the lido!  The view stretches across the lake to Potsdam and Berlin. You can reach the bath either by bike or by bus and tram 94

The Waldbad Templin, Templiner Straße 110, 14473 Potsdam, is located in the south of Potsdam on the eastern shore of the Templiner See. The Templin lido, which requires admission, has a wide range of water-related activities and is ideal for children: sandy beach, water slide, bathing island, small bathing lake for the very young, and for the larger sports areas, surf school, wakeboard lift and boat rental -> map. On the other side of the road, you will find the Forsthaus Templin, a traditional restaurant for outings. You can reach the bath with the Potsdam water taxi or the bus 607 from the main station.

Lake Raft Tours

A raft (or houseboat) tour with family or friends is something very special. Most rafts can be driven with a driving license, although parking requires some skill. There is usually a fridge and grill on the raft so that you can fry your sausages on deck as you float from lake to lake. Enjoy splash competitions in the water at any time—just drop the anchor and jump in!

Wakeboarding at Lake Templin

Whether you are a beginner, advanced, or professional, at MAGIX anyone can learn or improve their wakeboarding. Wakeboarding offers balanced training and physical fitness, but most importantly it is fun!

SUP Yoga at Lake Griebnitzsee

Yoga fans– pay attention! Take the challenge and test your yoga skills on a Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP). Besides the pleasure of exercising in nature, your body will be happy with a new balancing challenge. Afterwards, you can take a lap around the lake with your rented SUP.
