Biotechnology & Bioeconomy – Course of the Future

Groundbreaking impulses and high innovation dynamics: On October 20, 2022, the two Potsdam Fraunhofer Institutes, three Max Planck Institutes, and the University of Potsdam will present current research innovations, products, and innovative processes from the Potsdam Science Park as part of this year’s PSP Conference.

In five thematic blocks, stakeholders from research, transfer and business will report on current projects and offer insights into exciting best practice and successful collaborations. Visionary founders of successful companies talk about relevant factors for successful business start-ups and entrepreneurship. At the Startup Pitch, founders from the capital region present new products, services and solutions for the future.

“Current Developments in Biotechnology in Germany”
Dr. Martin Langer will present how BrainBiotech AG is working on the food of the future. In the subsequent panel with Marilena Schmich (numi), Prof. Alexander Böker (Fraunhofer IAP) and Dr. Klaus Pellengahr (Corden BioChem GmbH), current success stories will be discussed.

»Biologisierung & Bioökonomie«
The entrepreneur Dr. Marco Schmidt of the Biotx.ai and the scientist Dr. Lena Hochrein from the University of Potsdam will present current application scenarios for biotechnology. An overview of the developments in biotechnology in Germany will be provided by Dr. Manuel Bauer of Ernst & Young.

»Best Practice Kooperation Wissenschaft-Wirtschaft«
In the afternoon, everything revolves around concrete examples of successful biotech collaborations between science and industry.

»Gründung & Finanzierung« & »Startup Pitch«
In the last block, we offer you new and up-to-date insights into the topics of start-ups and financing. You can also look forward to this year’s Startup Pitch with new companies from the Potsdam Science Park environment.
