Dare to take the plunge — Potsdam Founders’ Day on October 5

The Potsdam Founders’ Day on October 5 offers space for information, inspiration and exchange. After a break last year due to the pandemic, the Potsdam Founder’s Day is back. The state capital and the partners of the Founders’ Forum Potsdam invite you to a small, fine half-day event in the Schinkelhalle on October 5, 2021 from 4 p.m. “After we unfortunately had to cancel our program at short notice last year, I am all the more pleased that we can offer Potsdam founders a face-to-face event again,” says Bernd Rubelt, Economic Councillor of the City of Potsdam. “Fortunately, the start-up activity in our city has not slowed down even during the pandemic. This shows that many interesting start-up ideas are still emerging in Potsdam and will also find a home here.”

Know-how, start-up examples, consulting & networking in a nutshell

Those interested in founding a company can look forward to a colorful program with exciting talk rounds and inspiring keynote speeches. Among them is the successful entrepreneur and author Petra van Laak, who says: “Founding is always possible”. With her new keynote speech “Dare to take the plunge – or how a seemingly absurd idea became a wise decision”, she will tell her founding story and thus provide inspiration and motivation. Petra van Laak founded the company herself many years ago in Potsdam – as a single mother of four small children with an idea in her head and a lot of heart and soul.

There will be two exciting panel discussions with young Potsdam companies and start-ups that will show how it can be done to implement one’s own idea. The GründerTag will be accompanied and moderated by the Improtheater Potsdam, which encourages participation and allows guests to playfully immerse themselves in the founding cosmos. The network partners of the Founders’ Forum will be on site and will be available for questions and consultations.

“You can expect a colorful program around the topic of ‘Founding in Potsdam’ – i.e. exchange, conversations, exciting start-up stories, because the focus – after a very digital year due to Corona – is on getting into conversation with each other, experiencing other founders with their stories and networking on site,” emphasizes Stefan Frerichs from the Potsdam Economic Development Agency. The Schirrhof in front of the Schinkelhalle offers a special atmosphere and enough space for conversations. “In the fresh air with a drink or food from the food truck, we would like to end the evening with you in a relaxed way.”

Since 2008, the Founder’s Day has been the annual highlight for Potsdam founders and, of course, for all those who are thinking of founding a company in Potsdam. It offers the opportunity to get to know like-minded people and important contacts, to exchange ideas and to see how others have done it.

It starts on October 5, 2021 at 4 p.m. in the Schinkelhalle (Schiffbauergasse 4a, 14467 Potsdam). The program ends at 9 p.m.

Participation is free of charge. However, due to the current pandemic situation, the number of participants will be limited and the event will take place in compliance with the 3G rule. Registration is mandatory.

All program items as well as the registration form can be found at www.gruenden-in-potsdam.de/gruendertag.
