Explore Potsdam-Golm with the Heron Bot
The Reiherbot takes you on a guided tour of Potsdam-Golm. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting facts and stories about the past, present, and future of the place. The Telegrambot is intended to make the beauty of Golm better known.
Every day, numerous employees of the Potsdam Science Park and students of the university commute to their workplace in Potsdam’s Golm district. What they see of the historically grown village is unfortunately far too often limited to the train station and the walk to the respective office or lecture room. Sören Etler and Erik Fandrich want to change that.
The two Heron bot developers have been living in Golm since 2017 and have come to appreciate the village. They want to make this experience accessible to others, because the majority of commuters don’t even know the Reiherberg so far. That’s why Sören Etler and Erich Fandrich are now offering a digital district tour with the “Reiherbot”.
With the help of the smartphone, interested parties can be guided free of charge on various routes through the Potsdam district. Along the way, they learn interesting facts and stories about the past, present and future of Golm. Etler and Fandrich want to connect the science location more closely with the village and make the beauty of Golm known.
The first route of the Reiherbot, the Reiherbergroute, has already been published and leads from Golm station over the Reiherberg, along the churches and through the village back to the station.
