Innovation Centers and Technology Campus in the Potsdam Science Park take shape

New areas for companies, start-ups, and innovative service providers from research to IT. The clocks have been changed, the sun is shining, and after the dark winter months, it feels as if they have suddenly been illuminated – the construction projects in the Potsdam Science Park. In several places, the Potsdam Science Park is transforming its shape.

In the immediate vicinity of the Golm train station, the new H-LAB office and laboratory complex is already at full height. The first windows have recently been embedded in the façade. Right next to it, between the GO:IN Golm Innovation Centre I and the Brandenburg State Archive, the new GO:IN II now has the first floor – with two further floors, the building will offer flexibly combinable office and laboratory space on a total of four floors.

Opposite on the other side of the railway, the 10-hectare TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS with building plots for knowledge-based businesses is growing in the immediate vicinity of the new institute buildings of the University of Potsdam. In March 2020, the municipal ProPotsdam GmbH opened the concept award procedure for the commercial space. Bidders can now apply for the developed, parcellable areas.
The roads are already being built and the supply lines are being laid. A first building already gives an idea of the new dimensions of the TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS: The University of Potsdam is expanding the campus with the new building of the Institute of Computer Science, which is financed by the Hasso Plattner Foundation. In the future, the topics of information technology, data processing and data storage will also play a greater role here.

Agnes von Matuschka, Managing Director of Standortmanagement Golm GmbH, is pleased with the visible progress. “The expansion of laboratory and commercial space is urgently needed for growing companies in the field of biotechnology. Especially in these times, we have to create enough space for the companies on site and in the capital region. In the Potsdam Science Park, companies will not only find space and rental space, but also a network of research institutes, transfer managers, specialists and graduates and service offerings, such as the Welcome Service of the site management.”
