Ministry of Science Assumes Responsibility for Development at Potsdam Science Park

Press Release Ministry of Science | Minister Schüle Visits the State’s Largest Science and Innovation Hub – Effective immediately, the Ministry of Science has assumed responsibility for development at the Potsdam Science Park. By consolidating its activities for the state’s largest science and innovation hub within a single ministry, the State of Brandenburg is strengthening the park’s continued expansion as an internationally visible driver of innovation. Today, on February 20, 2026, Minister of Science Dr. Manja Schüle visited the site in Potsdam-Golm to exchange views with researchers, companies, and start-ups and to gain first-hand insight into current developments.

Minister Manja Schüle stated:
“The Potsdam Science Park is Brandenburg’s largest innovation center. Here, excellent research translates into economic strength — from life sciences and biotechnology to big data, sustainable production, and new materials. With this new responsibility, we are strategically bringing together research, technology transfer, site development, and business attraction under one roof — for greater speed, greater visibility, and greater value creation in the state. In this way, we are creating the conditions for Golm to grow with international visibility and for new future opportunities to emerge for Brandenburg. At the same time, we are strengthening the state as a location for future technologies that tangibly improve people’s lives.”

Agnes von Matuschka, Site Manager, added:
“The new leadership by the Ministry of Science is an extremely positive development for site management at the Potsdam Science Park, and we are very pleased about it. Our focus is on advancing the transfer of innovation from our excellent research institutions and supporting start-ups and companies in networking within our vibrant ecosystem and in establishing operations here. We aim to position the park internationally and establish it as a flagship location in Brandenburg.”

The Potsdam Science Park is Brandenburg’s largest science and innovation campus. Around 12,500 people from more than 70 countries research, study, and work across more than 50 hectares in a closely connected ecosystem of companies, start-ups, and leading research institutions. With five institutes of the Max Planck and Fraunhofer Societies, three faculties of the University of Potsdam, two GO:IN innovation centers, and around 50 companies and start-ups, the site is a continuously growing engine for innovation and technology transfer. The Science Park continues to expand: new laboratory and office spaces are being planned, and additional companies are seeking to establish operations at the site.

Standortmanagement Golm GmbH is responsible, among other things, for technology transfer and cooperation, the attraction of research-oriented companies such as start-ups, internationalization, site marketing, the further development of the innovation ecosystem, and serving as the on-site contact partner. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of GO:INcubator GmbH, whose shareholders are the State Capital Potsdam and the University of Potsdam, and is supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund and state resources. From 2027 onward, the Ministry of Science intends to ensure the long-term financial support of the site management.

During the tour, the Minister visited selected companies and start-ups that exemplify the innovative strength of the location:

  • Personalized cancer medicine: CanChip GmbH develops tumor-on-chip models that enable realistic testing on human cell models and may help replace animal testing in cancer research in the long term.
  • New active substances: kez.biosolutions GmbH is developing a biotechnological drug discovery platform for new medicines, including for difficult-to-target mechanisms — relevant for healthy aging and combating antimicrobial resistance.
  • Cybersecurity for business and society: NeoMINT GmbH develops practical security structures that enable companies to deploy new technologies responsibly and in a future-proof manner.
  • High-precision sensor technology “made in Brandenburg”: All About Accuracy GmbH is working on a new generation of localization sensors for use in robotics, autonomous transport systems, and healthcare logistics.
  • Diagnostics and vaccines: Ripac-Labor GmbH produces herd-specific veterinary vaccines based on the precise identification of infectious agents. The company is building a state-of-the-art production facility at the Potsdam Science Park.
