More Than 29,000 Steps a Day? It’s Possible! – Great Results from the 2026 Step Challenge
The winners have been announced! The 2026 Step Challenge showed just how much movement, motivation, and team spirit our community has to offer. This year, 38 employees, researchers, and students from the Potsdam Science Park took part in the challenge for the first time.
Step by Step, Together
Participants from across the Potsdam Science Park collected steps throughout the 2026 Step Challenge and achieved impressive individual results as well as an outstanding team total of 12,409,582 steps – equivalent to 9,679 kilometres. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this shared success and registered as part of Team Potsdam Science Park.
We warmly congratulate our winners, whom we met today for a group photo, on this remarkable achievement:
- 🥇 Jeanett – 880,627 step
- 🥈 Alexandra – 802,340 steps
- 🥉 Mario – 756,767 steps
We also took the opportunity to ask the three participants how they manage to fit so many steps into their daily routines. Their tips ranged from walking through Potsdam’s parks and exploring the city on foot before or after work to discovering new cities and famous sights while travelling. Not only does walking help you stay active, it also boosts your mood and provides some fresh air after a long day indoors.
Physical activity supports health and well-being, creates opportunities for new connections, and strengthens exchange within our science community. We are delighted by the positive outcome of this year’s challenge and are already looking forward to the next one. See you, soon!
