Roche subsidiary Signature Diagnostics GmbH moves to Potsdam Science Park

The company, a company of the Swiss Roche Group, moved from Hermannswerder to Golm on June 1, 2023, where it rented new space in the well-known ‘Potsdam Science Park’. After more than twelve years at the Hermannswerder site, the 18 employees of the healthcare company can now expect a modern working environment in the ‘GO:IN2’ building. The municipal company Technologie- und Gewerbezentren Potsdam GmbH provides laboratory and office space on over 1,000 square meters here.

Innovative cancer research in an inspiring research environment

Research and development in the field of molecular diagnostics of cancer is a clear focus at Signature Diagnostics GmbH, which is reflected in the use of state-of-the-art analytical methods, such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). For example, the company conducts research studies to be able to characterize molecular changes, such as mutations, in the tumors.

“This activity opens up a wide range of opportunities,” says Dr. Ruediger Ridder, Managing Director of Signature Diagnostics GmbH, and notes: “These can contribute to earlier and improved diagnostics of cancer as well as to new, targeted therapeutic approaches for cancer patients.”

The ‘Potsdam Science Park’ is one of the most innovative locations in the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region. The proximity to the University of Potsdam as well as to several Fraunhofer and Max Planck Institutes offers ideal conditions for further expanding the research location. “We are proud that we now have a globally active anchor company in the ‘Potsdam Science Park’ with Signature Diagnostics GmbH. This is a great enrichment for our growing life science location,” explains Agnes von Matuschka, Managing Director of Standortmanagement Golm GmbH in the Science Park.
