We Live Science. Newsletter #3
Dear Readers, Dear Friends and Partners of the Potsdam Science Park, In the last few months, things have been quieter than usual in the Potsdam Science Park. The Corona pandemic has called into question many things that are taken for granted: daily contact with colleagues, exchange in large groups, the joint inter-institute lunch. But we also see this time as an opportunity.
We have used it to drive forward the major developments in the Potsdam Science Park. In the coming years, Potsdam’s innovation location will develop even more strongly into a powerhouse of research and high-tech. A new start-up center will open on the Lab Campus in 2021, and the Institute of Computer Science and Computational Science at the University of Potsdam will open on the Technology Campus. The first commercial property in the Technology Campus has also already been sold – further new buildings will follow. Around the train station, the Neue Mitte Golm is already being planned, an attractive meeting place for students, scientists and citizens.
The Potsdam Science Park is full of exciting personalities, projects and startups. In the new blog of the Potsdam Science Park in August, we introduce the founder Dagmar Köhler-Repp, who develops vaccines for animals with her successful company RIPAC-Labor and is now having her company’s headquarters built on the Technology Campus for more than 100 employees. In our new video series #welivescience you can also get to know the people of the Potsdam Science Park – the doctoral student, the student, the administrative staff, the top researcher. In episode #2, Dr. Kerry Gilmore from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces talks about innovative research approaches and the most satisfying moment in his career so far.
Do you want to get a complete overview of all available technical resources in the Potsdam Science Park? Then we recommend our Service and Research Guide #1 (12 MB) – now available hot off the press and available for download online. It introduces players and services of the Potsdam Science Park – and is already an impressive compendium.
