What ideas and developments can help to shape the future sustainably? Under the motto “Biotechnology & Bioeconomy – Parcours of the Future”, scientists and founders presented innovative approaches for resource-saving developments at this year’s PSP Conference – from the food industry to diagnostics to future energy supply and aspects of landscape planning, numerous topics were represented.
Impressions of the PSP Conference 2022
The cleanliness of air, water and atmosphere, the future availability of land, resources for energy generation and the feeding of a growing world population are necessary goals and reasons for extensive sustainable decisions in a wide variety of economic areas. It is already a race for time. The ideas of scientists and innovative founders from Potsdam also help to master the course.
Focus: Key technologies for change
175 guests from science, leading areas of the life sciences and related fields, as well as over 30 speakers, met on October 20, 2022 at the Fraunhofer Conference Center of the Potsdam Science Park to exchange ideas on more sustainable production, innovative key technologies and best practice collaborations between science and industry. Participants had the opportunity to network during the breaks and in the exhibition area, where 15 companies, institutions, startups and partners of the conference were represented with booths this year.
Innovative start-up concepts at the Startup Pitch
In this year’s Startup Pitch, five startups presented innovative start-up concepts. The participants were: Fabian Wischmann (HIIVE – Natural habitat of honey bees), Johannes Vegt (glaucare GmbH – ophmo – the mobile eye clinic), Pauline Neuholz (PAAWR GbR – The Revolution of Agriculture), Dr. Alexander Bartholomäus (GreenGate Genomics – Bioinformatic solution for complex microbiomes), Dr. Doron Benjamin Stein (memodio GmbH – The future of Digital Therapeutics in Dementia Care) and. Iris Wing To Lam (DeDx – Blood diagnostics, decentralized, personalized, simplified).
The Startup Pitch of the PSP Conference 2022 was won by Dr. Doron Benjamin Stein with his pitch from memodio GmbH. He and his team are developing an app that will support the treatment of incipient dementia in the future. Congratulations on winning the public vote!
