For the employees at the park, such things are a matter of course.

As the network hub of all the partners at the Potsdam Science Park, we help you take good care of yourself. Because a successful work-life integration requires a strong awareness of your own personal resources.

A New Perspective on Nutrition, Gut and Depressive Feelings

Online-Workshop: September 19, 2023 | 4.00 p.m. – 5.30 p.m. 

The gut is not called “the 2nd brain” for nothing.

The regulation of metabolism, food intake and emotions is a complex interplay of organs that is also influenced by our gut. This means that an altered composition of the microbiota can also influence our state of mind.

Our expert will explain how the brain interacts with the gut to support our health and how our diet can help us stay healthy and strengthen our mind.

Meditation - Ein Allheilmittel für jeden Menschen?

Achtsamkeit und Meditation werden uns von allen Seiten als Allheilmittel präsentiert. Gleichzeitig gibt es jedoch viele Menschen, die trotz bester Absicht Meditieren zu lernen, nicht länger als 5 Minuten ruhig auf einem Meditationskissen sitzen können. Oder die, obwohl sie bereits seit Jahren meditieren, weiterhin mit ihrem Gedankenkarussell, selbstschädigenden Verhaltensweisen oder Depressionen kämpfen.

Der Schlüssel zum Verständnis, warum Achtsamkeitspraktiken für viele Menschen (noch) nicht funktionieren, liegt in der Rolle unseres autonomen Nervensystems für unser körperliches, geistiges und seelisches Wohlbefinden. In diesem Workshop erfahren Sie, wie Sie lernen können, still zu werden.

Inclusion Café

The inclusion team of the University of Potsdam invites you to a regular inclusion café. A monthly meeting is planned at one university location each (every 3 months in Golm). In a cozy atmosphere, people with health impairments can get into conversation with others affected. The personal exchange and the experience of others can help to better cope with barriers and problems in everyday work and private life.

Registration is requested. Internationals are welcome.

Massage

Uncomplicated and at unbeatable prices: The team at the Academic Sports Center also offers massages for employees of the Potsdam Science Park (booking: status group 3). At the “Massage Knetpunkt” on the university’s campus in Golm, trained physiotherapists offer you a short relaxation phase from your daily work routine.

Please note, that not all team members will speak English fluently. A translated note about your preconditions and needs might help to enhance your experience.

Menstruation & Sport - eine neue Perspektive auf Ihr Training

„Frauen sind keine kleinen Männer“. Endlich wird dieser physiologischen Tatsache auch in der Medizin und im Sport Beachtung geschenkt.

In unserem Workshop lernen Sie, wie ein normaler Zyklus funktioniert, welche Zyklusstörungen (gerade auch im Sport) auftreten und wodurch sie verursacht werden, was bei der Auswahl der Kontrazeptionsmethode im Zusammenhang mit Sport zu beachten ist, welchen Einfluss Ihr Zyklus und Ihre (hormonellen) Verhütungsmethoden auf ihre sportliche Leistungsfähigkeit und ihre Trainierbarkeit haben und wie sie ihren Zyklus monitoren können.

Achten sie auf ihren Zyklus und die damit verbundenen Schwankungen in ihrer Befindlichkeit. Dieses Wissen ermächtigt Sie, mit Ihrem statt gegen Ihren Körper zu arbeiten und Verletzungen zu vermeiden. Ihr Zyklus ist kein notwendiges Übel, sondern ein wichtiger Gesundheitsmarker, den sie für gesundes Sporttreiben nutzen können.

Healthy Leadership: Understanding, Recognizing and Managing Stress

Stress is not the same as strain!

What one person perceives as a strong strain, another person perceives as a real motivation. How differently is stress perceived and how can you recognize that someone is overloaded?

The workshop helps to develop an awareness of stress and strain, warning signals and stress consequences in oneself and in the employees and gives recommendations and tips for and in dealing with stressed and strained employees.

Note: Workshop exclusively for group leaders at the Potsdam Science Park.

Healthy Self Leadership

Pressing deadlines, pressure to perform, making difficult decisions – employees are exposed to high demands in an ever faster changing working world.

What is the best way to navigate through everyday (work-) life and stay healthy at the same time? These are exactly the questions we address in our online workshop, which is speci­ally prepared for employees with high stress jobs. The aim is for you to acquire basic knowledge about healthy self-leadership and to receive suggestions for successful implementation based on practical exercises.

Der Einfluss der Ernährung auf Alterungsprozesse

Möglichst lange gesund leben ist ein Wunsch vieler Menschen. Einzelnen Lebensmittel werden auch häufig besondere Anti-Aging Eigenschaften zugeschrieben, also Eigenschaften, die den biologischen Alterungsprozess hinauszögern.

In der Tat gehört die Ernährung zu den wichtigsten modifizierbaren Lebensstilfaktoren, die eine Krankheitsentstehung verzögern oder verhindern, und dadurch ein Altern in Gesundheit ermöglichen. Doch welche Ernährungsweise eignet sich am besten, um gesund zu altern? Kann der Effekt auf einzelne Nährstoffe reduziert werden oder ist das Geschehen zu komplex? Lässt sich ein Effekt auf Alterungsprozesse tatsächlich nachweisen und bedeutet dies, dass Alterung grundsätzlich aufgehalten werden kann?

First Aid Training

Live Training: April 19, 2023 | 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. 

In the first aid training of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. (regional association Potsdam-Mittelmark-Fläming), you will learn how to behave at the scene of an emergency – from making an emergency call and removing a helmet to the stable side position and stopping life-threatening bleeding. In addition, the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. team provides training on measures to be taken in the event of a heart attack or stroke, burns, acute illnesses, and the use of a defibrillator (AED).

Betriebliche Erste Hilfe Ausbildung

Live Training: 22. September 2023 | 9.00 – 17.00 Uhr (German)

In der betrieblichen Erste-Hilfe-Ausbildung der Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. (Regionalverband Potsdam-Mittelmark-Fläming) lernen Sie, wie Sie sich am Notfallort verhalten müssen – vom Notruf über die Helmabnahme bis hin zur stabilen Seitenlage und dem Stillen lebensbedrohlicher Blutungen. Darüber hinaus schult das Team der Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. zu Maßnahmen bei Herzinfarkt oder Schlagan­fall, Verbrennungen, akuten Erkrankungen sowie zur Benutzung eines Defibrillators (AED).

Movement

The Academic Sports Center is our cooperation partner for more movement at Potsdam Science Park. It offers in-person sports courses as well as OnlineFlex tickets. The offer is supplemented by on-demand sports courses as well as relaxation and nutrition podcasts.

The courses are accessible to all employees at Potsdam Science Park (status group 3). Some courses are also held in English.

 

Your moving break!

In order to counteract a lack of movement at the workplace and the associated musculoskeletal complaints, the Academic Sports Center has come up with something very special for employees: an active 15-minute online break during working hours.

OnlineFlex-Ticket

For the first time, the Academic Sports Center offers all online courses combined in one ticket, giving you maximum flexibility. You don’t have to commit to one course a week, but can take part in 15 sports courses at different times of the day from Monday to Saturday. Depending on what you’re in the mood for, you can either relax, mobilize or work out. So put together your own individual training plan and decide for yourself when you want to take part in which course in order to achieve your personal goals.

Academic Sports Center

The Academic Sports Center Potsdam is Potsdam’s largest sports provider. Participants can put together their own individual programme from over 500 weekly courses in more than 100 types of sports. In addition to an extensive sports programme, the Academic Sports Center also organizes numerous events and competitions.

The Brandenburg Main State Archive

At the Brandenburg Main State Archive, employees can take advantage of back exercise courses, the break app “Gym-o-fizz”, and mobile massages. In the future the programme will also include health workshops. External affiliated persons can also participate in selected online activities upon request.

 

Standortmanagement Golm GmbH

The Standortmanagement Golm GmbH connects all partners with each other and markets the Potsdam Science Park to the outside world. In the area of work-life integration we offer workshops in German and English for all employees on the campus.
